If you have a Nexus device or Moto X, then you might be enjoying Android 5.0 Lollipop, if not then this article is not for you. Yes, this post is only for the users of Android 5.0 Lollipop, as they may have encountered an error “Unsupported android version” while using MX Player. This error does not allow us to use the application so we are not able to play videos via MX Player. This compatibility issue is found in both free and pro version. Although the developer of the application has came out with a solution by providing us an test build file so that we can still use MX Player (free version) on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
In this test build H/W+ is not working, as it will take some time after complete source code is available to the developer. You can download the MX Player test build APK file from the download box below in order to run the app in Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Please note that this only a test build and may have few bugs. So you can wait for a stable version. This is only a temporary fix by the developer to use MX Player on Android 5.0 devices.
Update: MX Player has now been updated that supports Android 5.0 Lollipop, you can download the latest from Google Play Store.
